Anthony N. Brannan, M.D.

Anthony N. Brannan, M.D. received his Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree in 1976 and his Medical Degree in 1980 from Vanderbilt University in Nasheville, Tenneessee.  He completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery, followed by a Fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota between 1980 and 1986.

Dr. Brannan is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon and is Board Certified in both General and Colon & Rectal Surgery.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. Brannan has been practicing Colon & Rectal Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida for over 20 years.  He serves St. Joseph's Hospital as its American College of Surgeons Cancer Liaison Physician, Chairman of the Cancer Committee, and Chief of Surgery at St. Joseph's Same Day Surgery Center.  He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and an Affiliate Member of H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.

Dr. Brannan specializes in the surgical treatment of colon and rectal cancer, colon and rectal polyps, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohns disease, and anorectal disorders.  He is an expert in colonoscopy and advances laparoscopic surgery, especially involving colorectal lesions, gallbladders, and hernias.


David F. Echevarria, M.D.

David F. Echevarria, M.D. attended Tulane University and received a degreee in Mechanical Engineering.  He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.  Dr. Echevarria returned to Tampa where he completed a five year surgical training program at Tampa General Hospital, The Veterans Administration, as well as H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center.

Dr. Echevarria is Board Certified in General Surgery.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is considered an expert in his field.  He has vast knowledge of advanced laparoscopic surgery, general surgery and surgical oncology including breast, liver and pancreatic cancers.  Dr. Echevarria is providing State of the Art breast conservation treatment options for early stage breast cancer patients by using the Mammosite Radiation Therapy System.

Dr. Echevarria is an Affiliate Member of H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.  He serves as co-director for the intuitive surgical robotics department at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida.  In addition, he has extensive experience with Bariatric Surgery for Morbid Obesity and is a member of the American College of Bariatric Surgeons.
